The fourth

Boston/whale watch

We started the holiday off in Boston on the third. We did some early morning walking around and went on a whale watch with the girls and my mom. The actual whale watch was a little disappointing because we only saw one whale and we only went to one spot in the ocean. And the girls picked pretzels as a snack while we were on the boat- you know, the big ones that are supposed to be warm and soft- these pretzels, not so much. They were ridiculously hard. I've been on whale watches before out of Gloucester and I've never been disappointed so I probably wouldn't do this one out of Boston again, but just being out on the open waters in a boat with nothing but blue skies and ocean surrounding us made it all worth it. I could have stayed on that boat all day. There are very few things I love more than a warm and sunny day on the ocean. Kennadie told me that I belong on an island. She knows me well.

We found the cutest little splash fountain area in between the streets of Boston. We don't have anything like this in our town so I was really excited about this spot.

We skipped fireworks this year and instead spent the fourth at my parent's house cooking on the grill, swimming, roasting marshmallows, and making Oreo cookie s'mores.
