the end of summer

Summer was filled with friends and family and day trips to the zoo and the lake and the ocean. We enjoyed cookouts, S'mores, swimming in the pool, eating ice cream, a camp out, and trips to the library. We balanced the go, go, go of summer fun nicely with lots of home days, crafts, messes, lounging around in pajamas, walks around the neighborhood, and quality time together.

It's bittersweet to see this summer go, but there is so much to look forward to- new routines, Josh having weekends off, school stuff, soccer games, and apple picking and all the fun things that fall has to offer. Our summer began with us as a family of three and ended with us as a family of four. Josh had this past week off from work and Nicole really had a chance to bond with him and she must have been so used to having him home every morning that when she woke up today she walked around the house yelling, "Dada, Dada!"

We had a great week together!
