Making me happy- Josh finally getting a full week off next week and planning some fun things to do as a family and hopefully Josh and I get to sneak away for a night, knowing that fall is right around the corner, being a mom to two little girls, reading at night, writing, taking videos with my phone every day, watching the girls play together and the bond they have already created, and waking up early.

Reading- I still have a ton of samples on my kindle but for some reason I haven't been able to commit to one book yet so I have been reading a lot of blogs lately; although, I do need to get back into the habit of commenting on blogs again because that is just as much a part of blogging as the writing is. I love reading personal blogs (mostly written by moms)- the ones that are real and honest and that I can relate to and that show glimpses into their lives. They bring a sense of connection and community and I love that.

Thinking about- When Little One will legally become a part of our family. It makes me a little nervous and it's scary to think that she *could* be taken away from us. She is part of our family though (whether it's legal or not yet) and I don't think of her any other way than our daughter and Kennadie's sister. We should be on our way to starting the adoption process by the end of this year once she is legally free and if all goes well we should be able to go to court in the spring of 2015 to finalize the adoption. It's such a long process and I can't wait for the day I don't have to worry anymore.

Surprised by- The feelings I had when I met Little One's birth mom. It was a bit of a shock because I wasn't expecting to run into her so it took a few minutes to process what had just happened, but I felt for her as a mother, and no matter what she will always be Little One's birth mom. We are completely okay with an open adoption agreement and believe Little One deserves to know and see her birth mom. I believe she can never have enough people to love her and support takes a village, right?!
