memories, dreams, and reflections 2013

1. Me!

This is one of my favorite photos of the two of us from 2013.

I am most proud of the growth I have made this year-as a person, as a mom, as a wife. I am so, so proud that I stuck with the MAPP training (as hard and confusing as it was at times). I have always let my fears get in the way of me doing whatever it is I want to do, even when I am very passionate about something. This is something that I have been working on and plan on continuing to work very hard on. I didn't give up even when it got scary and I didn't let my fears stop me and I truly believe in my heart that we are exactly where we are supposed to be. Everything about it feels so right and I believe adoption is meant for us and our family and I am so very excited about adding on to our family in 2014.

2. I Love You.

These two are my world.

3. Still Laughing…

Her fourth birthday party. I had all of these ideas about what her party was going to be like and it turned out nothing like I had planned (a lot like life in general). It was chaotic, we had to have everyone at our house at the very last minute, our house wasn't picked up for a party, dishes were in the sink, nothing was set up, and I cried-more than once. We definitely can look back now and laugh about it though. The kids had fun and she loved just having her friends there and that was all that really mattered.

4. Winter Wonderland.

5. Birthday.

Kennadie and I had so much fun putting together a little photo shoot and album for Josh's birthday. She dressed up in Josh's clothes and we included some items in the photos that are meaningful to him.

6. Friends.

7. I Was Inspired…

I think it was back in August when I found the kids were here project and fell in love with this idea and decided to try it myself. I absolutely love documentary photography and this personal project fits right in with that and I look forward to doing this each month. I think it will be so cool to make an album and look back on these images years from now.

8. Spring Fever.

9. Travel or Vacation.

Block Island with just the girls over the summer.

Surprise trip to the Cape for Josh's birthday.

10. Summer Days.

11. A Day In My Life.

Spending my days with her is the best thing in the world.

12. All Smiles.

We met this little girl when we took the dune ride in the Cape. The two of them clicked right away and when we stopped on the beach to watch the sunset they ran into the freezing cold water. These photos make me so happy and they were adorable twirling around in the ocean for the longest time. And of course, Kennadie ended up in tears because she was soaked and freezing.

13. Autumn Harvest.

14. Family or Home.

15. Celebrate!

16. Let’s Do It Again…

Camping at the Cape.

17. I Miss You.

I miss this little guy so much.

18. Beautiful.

19. Dress Up.

20. Macro.

This was probably one of the only real close up photos I took but I love it.

21. Holidays.

Fourth of July weekend.

22. My Favorite.

Our trip to the Cape was one of my favorite memories in 2013.

23. Don’t Ever Change.

Sometimes when we are at the beach she will just dance around in the sand. It's one of my favorite little things that she does and always puts a smile on my face.

24. Just Because…So There!

25. Hopes and Dreams.

2014 will be the year of change. Our family will be changing and Kennadie will be starting kindergarten in the fall. I am looking forward to really figuring out what it is that I want to do for a career and what fits with our lifestyle and family and working towards that. I look forward to seeing Kennadie become a sister. I look forward to learning more about photography and growing my creativity through this. I look forward to pushing myself, believing in myself, and putting myself out there (as scary as that can be) and learning to let go and not let my fears get in my way.
