love where you live

I have always had a dream of moving far away-to a place that is hot and tropical, where flip flops are worn year-round, where palm trees sway in the front yard, where on any given day we can hop in the car and drive ten minutes to the ocean. One day, I do hope to live somewhere warm, but right now we are here and it's important for me to be happy and love where I live no matter where that is: here, Florida, wherever. And it's important for me to teach Kennadie that we can create the life we want and deserve no matter where we are.

This weekend, we took advantage of the fun Halloween activities that our area offers. Kennadie and I bundled up for some early trick-or-treating at OSV and enjoyed hot cocoa while waiting for a few friends who were stuck in traffic for hours trying to get in. They never made it but I didn't really mind because I got to enjoy my little girl all to myself.

Saturday, we ate popcorn and reese's pieces (her favorite snack at the movie theater) while watching Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 and then we met up with some friends for more trick-or-treating.

We had a good home day on Sunday-complete with pajama walks, carving pumpkins, and cuddling on the couch watching Monsters University.

It has taken a long time for me to get to this place of feeling content with being right where I am. My hope is that I can always remind myself and show my daughter that it's not the location of where we live that matters. It's about family, friends, love, traditions, the way we spend our time together, the way we create memories, and a home that is filled with good and meaningful moments.
