bath time

Time is like a river. You can't touch the same water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again. -unknown.

Kennadie & I have special things that we do together or say to each other & the other day, she told me that she wasn't going to say one of these things anymore. I was crushed! I know these special moments that we have won't last forever & I want more than anything to truly enjoy them while they are here, to never take them for granted.

Some days, by the time bath time rolls around, I am done. It's not always an easy thing to live in the moment, to really be present. Sometimes it takes work. But, even after a long day & as tired as we all may be, bath time is a special part of our day & something that I don't ever want to forget.

Like the way Josh plays with her...

And the way she stalls & runs away from us when we want to brush her teeth...

How the crying during teeth brushing (and finger prints smudged on bathroom mirrors) are very common around here...

The way she made up a game with her floss & how she makes daddy lose most of the time...

And the way she stalls  before bed- watching the bunnies out of the playroom window...

And the way we all play for a few minutes before reading stories or tucking her in bed...

(I know the editing of these photos are inconsistent & I realize that now, but that's what learning is all about, right?!)
