4th of july

This fourth of July carnival has been around for years. I remember sitting on the metal bleachers as a teenager watching the fireworks in the dark & riding the fastest rides with friends. Last year, we brought Kennadie for the first time & she loved it, so we decided to do it again this year. Up until about a week before the carnival we had no idea that a good friend always brings her kids here too, so we decided to meet up with them for rides, fun, fireworks, & fried dough.

the only photo taken of the two of us this night & he cut her face out-he tried

We spent Thursday morning lazing around, & in the afternoon we slowly made our way down to my parents' house trading our pajamas in for celebrating with family, bathing suits, sunscreen, swimming, & good food.

It had been years since we brought Dakota in the pool & I forgot how much he loved it. His eyes began to shut & he happily lounged on the float, cooperating as we put an empty beer can in between his paws, & let us have some good laughs. Every time I tried to get him out he wouldn't budge, obviously annoyed that I was even trying to move him. So there he stayed.

By the end of the day we were tired & Josh had to work Friday so we wrapped it up with a small fire, saving the glow sticks & sparklers for later this weekend.

Hope you had a wonderful fourth!

I had to laugh at the picture of the two of you with just her eyes showing. Leo does that all the time or I think we have a great family picture but then look at it and Leo's head is cut off because he is so tall. I love the one where Kennadie is holding the lion. The dog one is hilarious!

Haha, that's funny. Yeah I even asked Josh if it came out & he was like, oh yeah! Ha, not so much :)
