random from last week

I was invited to attend a journaling workshop last week. I had no idea what to expect but I was super excited to go as this was my first time attending one. I was surprised at the honesty & vulnerability that almost everyone showed, many digging so deep they shed tears. This workshop was touching & eye opening for me; I learned a few things about myself & it made me realize just how hard it can be for me to really “go there” & dig that deep at times, especially in front of other people. This is something that I have been working on & I know I am on my way there.
We got together for a play date with some friends & had the kids decorate gingerbread men. To a three year old there is nothing more delicious than a cookie loaded with sugary frosting, topped with as many sprinkles that can fit on there :)
Kennadie & I spent a day getting ready for our Christmas party. We headed over to iParty for some decorations & of course we had to try on anything silly we could find. When we got home, she was supposed to help me fill the goody bags for the kids but decided whatever TV show that was on was so much more interesting :)
Saturday morning she asked for M&M's in her cereal- normally not something I would let her do (totally NOT healthy!!) but lately I am really trying to say yes more than no, especially with the little things that aren't a big deal. After what happened last Friday, I am just appreciating that I have these moments with her.

Of course she thought eating M&M's in her cereal was just so cool :)

I love that you let her have M&M's in her cereal! I am trying to be more a yes person myself and it's tough.

I would love to attend a journaling workshop or any kind of writing workshop. Sounds so interesting.

Haha it is really hard, sometimes I find myself saying no to even silly things & then a second later I think to myself, why did I just say no? It's kind of a habit & it's so much easier to say no :)

I would love to attend more workshops like this, the journaling workshop was pretty intense, I had no clue that was going to happen. It was great though! I would definitely recommend it if you ever come across one!
