ramblings from the last few weeks

We are getting some really gorgeous sunsets right outside our front door. I have been getting out whenever we are home to watch & take pictures, & the first time I saw the orange & pink in the sky I couldn't believe we have been living here for almost 3 years now & I have never once noticed this. I have been really trying to look around me & see all the beauty that is right in front of me. It's pretty amazing what I see when I open my eyes.

My best friend, Aile, her husband, & their three girls were baptized the other weekend & I couldn't be more proud of her. She has been through a lot in her life & this was a huge deal for them. I wish I took pictures but I didn't have my camera & my cell phone was dead during service. My eyes filled with happy tears as I watched their Pastor pour water on each one of them. This was such a special moment in all of our lives & I am now also blessed with three amazing Goddaughters :)

Kennadie has this thing she does in the car when she hears a song she really likes-she says, "Mommy can you turn it louder? And can I close my eyes & sing?"  I glance in the mirror & tell her, "Of course you can!" I peak back as much as I can to watch her sing with her hands folded in her lap & her eyes shut. I love, love, love this!! This is my favorite thing she does right now. Music is such an important part of my life & it's almost as if she closes her eyes to really feel the music & get lost in it. I totally get this :)

Kennadie went bowling for the first time a few weeks ago for a birthday party. We had such a great time with friends & although she had absolutely no idea what she was doing she got a spare :)

We spent the weekend after Thanksgiving decorating our tree & putting up Christmas lights outside the house. We ended the day with hot cocoa & cuddling up on the couch to watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Kennadie loved this movie & thought it was hilarious when Cindy Lou Who said, "You're the...the..." And then the Grinch says, "The...the...The GRINCH!" She cracked up so hard over this & told me that she told the kids at school all about it :)

She has been all about hot cocoa lately, so the other day after we played out in the snow we came in to write her Dear Santa letter, drank hot cocoa, & ate cookies. She has been talking a lot lately about ice skating & how she wants to go soon & I thought it was so cute that she asked Santa for a pair of ice skates! For the record, Santa won't be buying her ice skates right now or a new bicycle- she just got a new bike for her birthday in March :)
