memories this week: riding a bike, summer concerts & family time

This past week Josh has been off from work & instead of going anywhere we decided to hang out at home, take it easy, & spend time together as a family. We have had an amazing week filled with lazy mornings lounging around in our pj's, playing with Kennadie, sleeping in, staying up too late & enjoying time with family & friends. I hate that it's coming to an end!

Kennadie started riding her bike on her own this week. We bought her a bike for her birthday back in March but she has had no interest in riding it until now. The other day while we were playing in the backyard I asked her (like I always do) if she wanted to ride her bike & she finally said yes! Off we went for a walk & she rode her bike the entire way. She told me that her favorite part was going "fast" down our driveway :)

I may or may not have a minor obsession with Kenny Chesney, but I can't help it- I fell in love with his music years ago & in many ways his music has been so healing for me. So, the day we have been looking forward to all year finally came- our annual girls day at the Kenny Chesney concert! My mom's birthday was last weekend & since she has never been to this concert we bought her a ticket to come with us. We had a blast tailgating & the concert was awesome! We already can't wait til next year!

Josh, my sister, & I headed down to the casino for a night out while Kennadie spent some time with my parents (Nana & Papa). We played the slots for hours, we all won a little bit of money, had dinner here, & saw David Nail in concert. The venue only holds 300 people & our table was right in front so it was a very intimate performance. His voice is gorgeous, his music is beautiful & he was so much fun in concert. It was a great night!

On Friday, Josh & I took Kennadie to a farm not too far from where we live. We have been taking her here for the past few years & we all really enjoy it. She had so much fun feeding & brushing the animals & going on a pony ride. After we saw all of the animals we headed over to the splash pad on the other side of the farm. This splash pad is huge & so much fun. On our way home, we went out to dinner & Kennadie had her first experience with cotton candy. The waitress asked me if it was OK & of course I said yes (even thought I never got into the whole cotton candy thing) I think it's gross! Thankfully, Kennadie didn't like it either. She took one look at it & had no idea what to even do with it, so she played with it instead!
